Beer 8 - Coniston Brewery, Bottle Conditioned Bluebird Bitter

Over the last few months I have heard a lot of people talking about Coniston's Brewery  on Twitter and what wonderful beers they brew. Fortunately for me I was sent a bottle of Bluebird Bitter courtesy of "Beers of Europe", which I am going to review tonight.

Coniston Brewery, Bottle Conditioned Bluebird Bitter
ABV : 4.2%

Looks : Dark orange gold with slight carbonation with a tightly packed, small bubbled, two finger, pure white head.

Aroma : An amazing grassy hay like malt with fruit hops coming through, possibly apple/pear with citrus sweet orange hints. A lingering sweet digestive biscuit smell is present.

Flavour : A very pleasant bitter bite at first which fades into a light malty sweetness with apple, pear and orange floral hops coming through. There is a grassy/earthy grain present

Finish :  Leaves a outstanding smooth bitterness with an grassy grain finish

Rating : 10 out of 10

This for me has to be the best bitter i have ever tired. The smell alone just wants me to drink more and more and at only 4.2% percent, what an excellent session beer. For all you ale drinkers out there, if you haven't tried this definitely contact the brewery  http://www.conistonbrewery.com/ and get your hands on a bottle or even a case. Well done everyone at Coniston Brewery. A truly exceptional Bitter.
